The body color was a one off verde "Max Meyer 10.550"; the carpets were in kaki and the interior was white leather "Connolly Bianca Pac.1544".

This car was one of one hundred and ten 3500 GT's built by Maserati in 1958 and was one of only nine shipped to the United States in 1958. It is considered the rarer of the 3500 GT models as it is an early production car.

Owners:

  • 78 was first sold to Mr Patrick Zazzera of Irvington NJ (3rd of April 1958). He bought one of each of the maserati models from 1958 until 1975.
  • There was reportedly a second owner located in Lexington Kentucky, though the history of this remains unknown at this time.
  • Dr. Wynant Dean (Louisville, KY) purchased 78 in 1962 from Cal Connell Cadillac on York Street with 2,092 miles.
  • Rudy Miller (Louisville, KY) purchased 78 on July 20, 1967 for $2,032.04 with just 2,097 miles from from Tri City Oldsmobile (Fiat Dealer).
  • Robert Coyle (Louisville, KY) purchased 78 on August 23, 1984 for $300 from Rudy Miller with 4,449 miles
  • Adam Burckle (Louisville, KY) purchased 78 on April 10, 2008 with 7,992 miles.

Currently 78 is undergoing a complete frame off restoration. The goal is to restore 78 back to the way it was when it left the factory in April of 1958.
